A Dec. 20 editorial noting that UTSA is hiding behind a district attorney investigation in refusing to answer questions about the demotion of Manuel Berrioz�bal from his leadership position in PREP � and urging the district attorney�s office to come out quickly with indictments, if there are to be any � is perplexing.

Three months ago, columnist Carlos Guerra, quoting the district attorney�s office, dispelled any idea that Dr. Berrioz�bal was under investigation.
 

UTSA�s dissembling is bad enough. The Express-News does its readers a gross disservice, and Berrioz�bal a gross injustice, by writing as if the PREP founder were still under the cloud of criminal investigation.
